The purpose of this project was to explore the aesthetics of a particular font design and to experiment typographically with said font design. I created a brochure highlighting the beauty of Officina Sans.
Concept:
Officina Sans was designed by Erik Spiekermann in 1990, and this played a major part in the decisions I made throughout the process. The 90s are known for saturated neon colors and funky shapes and patterns working together (and sometimes clashing), so I really wanted to push that concept home. The brochure itself I designed to be in a unique folding pattern and shape to accentuate the diamond shapes I used in the design. Initially the entire brochure was a conglomeration of saturated colors (including the background), and I ended up toning that down by using black. This allows the rest of the elements to stand out better and creates better hierarchy and readability.
