Sojos Coffee

Brief:

Kyle of Sojos Coffee has been roasting coffee since 2017, and does it in small batches to ensure the best possible quality of beans. In order to better-serve Sojos customers, he needed a website. The goal with the Sojos website is to create a clear and concise place for customers to order beans for themselves, as well as find out more about Sojos and their mission.

Process:

Because Sojos already had several existing logos, one of the first things we did was clarify their brand voice and target audience to be able to refine what they had into something directly corresponding to their purpose and mission. With a warm and welcoming personality and a focus on traveling and being outdoors, we chose a warm color palette of muted brown and red to capture the feeling of a warm cup of coffee. Accent colors were chosen to further emphasize travel and adventure and friendship, and we chose serif typefaces to complement the color palette and bring trust and just a bit of nostalgia.

The existing logo portrayed a VW van driving through the mountains, with their slogan written in the upper right-hand corner. After establishing brand typography and personality, the logo went through some small revisions and refining to create a better fit for the new website, as well as variations for use in different settings. The mountain and van illustration was kept, and typography was revised to create a similar look that would be cohesive with the new site.

Now you can order Sojos Coffee from the comfort of your couch, and “savor the journey” with a good cup of coffee. Check out their website live here.
